Tomo developed through collaboration between three university students and Walrus, a boutique home accessory retailer in Vancouver. The intent was to create a nostalgic sense of presence, warmth and care within the home using an everyday household object—a canning jar. This intention resulted in the design of a small elegant rechargeable lamp celebrating a solid walnut wooden top, a riveted copper shade, and to be used with small mouth canning jars or on its own.
